Hey, Pictures fans, friends and family! Hope everyone has had a fantastic Thanksgiving holiday week to cap off a great November! We’re still recuperating from a ton of great parties this month; Madolyn and Kevin Brinig at the newly renovated Four Seasons Austin, the new Mr. and Mrs. Wood at the Horseshoe Bay Resort (although the weather was a little sketchy, their new tent/pavilion is a killer party room!), Holiday annual party at the Austin Country Club, Blair and Warren Thayer’s nuptials at Camp Lucy (be sure and check out the new restaurant Tillie’s at Camp Lucy - open 7 days/wk for lunch and dinner!) and we also have to give a special shout-out to Chrissy at the wonderful ‘new-to-us’ venue BRIK in Ft. Worth - a charming renovated warehouse space, it can accommodate up to 600 people on two floors and a lovely outdoor patio/pavilion space. It was our first time there, celebrating the wedding of Amber and Brandon King, and it couldn’t have been a better time! From Red Hot Chili Peppers to Daft Punk, The Weekend and of course, SHOUT! to end the night, it was a fantastic party at a fantastic venue. The band was mostly in the Austin area for the Thanksgiving holiday, and now we’re getting geared up for a crazy Christmas holiday season - about a dozen parties in the next 30 days including at least one wedding, several corporate parties (the Chevron event is always memorable!) and what is sure to be a fun-filled NYE at the Hotel Granduca in Austin. Stay tuned and we’ll keep you updated - that’s it for now! Happy Holidays from the Pictures family!!!

OCT 18-27 BUSY!!!

Hey, just wanted to catch up with friends, family and fans of The Pictures Band - keepin’ it real in Texas…and Beyond!!

A couple of highlights - last Thursday, October 18th, we were excited to be asked to be the band for the Austin Big Fake Wedding - tons of great local vendors got to show off their best stuff for nearly 100 brides and grooms.  Hosted by the great Addison Grove venue, we want to thank Callie Rogers for doing such a great job coordinating the event.  A special shoutout to my friend Elana Pearlman of Iced Cakes and Confections for bringing some delicious sweet treats!

Friday night OCT 19, brought us to Tyler, Tx for the annual Rose Festival party - about 850 people packed the Country Club and danced like crazy til midnight - Our congratulations to the Rose Queen of 2018, Her Majesty Amanda Hiles.

We had a wedding blowout in Waco Saturday night Oct 20, with Madeline and Daniel, the happy newlyweds, and even had a surprise appearance by Bruiser, the Baylor mascot, who entertained the crowd and had a special on-stage dance with the Bride and Groom - definitely a night to remember!  (Jump Around was an especially popular request!!!)

Friday night, the 26th, we brought a full 4-piece horn section with us all the way out to Alexandria, LA for a giant LSU fundraiser, our 3rd time there.  We had some great boudin balls, crawfish pies and a whole lot more tasty Cajun food before the party and then did a marathon 3-hour set for an extremely appreciative crowd - looking forward to next year already!!

Last, but surely not least, we spent Saturday night OCT 27 at the very stylish Hotel Emma with our latest bridal couple; Brandon and Elizabeth and their lovely families and friends.  We highly recommend Hotel Emma for the modern/vintage/industrial steampunk sort of esthetic, really a unique venue with friendly professional staff.

Ok, that’s all for this edition; some of us are heading out to Marfa and Big Bend to do some hiking and get some fresh air, those of us near Lake Travis are still recovering from the crazy flooding of the past few weeks, but looking forward to the next adventure!  Talk with y’all soon - be well and come see us!

P.S. - Next public appearance at Steiner Ranch Steakhouse (near Lake Travis) for Nov. 23 - Black Friday - if the weather holds (CALL FIRST, they may call the season earlier this year) and hopefully we’ll be there for all of your post-shopping drinking/eating/dancing needs!!!

SEPT 29-OCT 20

Hey, Fans, Friends, and Family!! Hope everyone is enjoying this INSANE weather we’re having - sending this message by dogsled, LOL We had a blast at Greek Bros. in El Campo on the 29th - thanks so much to the club, to Matthew Charkalis, and to our friend Keith Rod for helping to make it happen!! We hope to be back there soon and will keep y’all updated! Shoutout to our friends at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church Fundraiser in Houston where we spent last Saturday night with an aMAZing bunch - great fun, some crazy kids dancing and some excellent BBQ!! Saturday night was at the lovely Old Glory Ranch outside of Wimberley - congrats to Erin, Daniel, and all their family and friends and also thanks to Suzanne at OGR and her crew (Carey and Karen)- what a great crowd and a great venue! In other news, we’re all obsessing (well, those of us with kids anyway) over Baby Shark (doo-do-do-do-do) and looking forward to the Big Fake Wedding in Austin at Addison Grove on Thursday (if you are looking at booking the band, contact us and we can give you a free ticket to come check us out) and then Rose Festival party in Tyler on Friday as well as Madeline and Daniel’s wedding in Waco on Saturday - Hope everyone is doing great - stay warm and we’ll see you soon!

September 2018

Hello to all the friends, fans and family of The Pictures Band - just wanted to let y’all know what’s been going on lately! We had a great time last Friday at the Odessa High School class reunion. Since Byron and Robin both went to school in Odessa, they had tons of friends to catch up with and share some great memories from that era :) Saturday we performed for a corporate group at the JW Marriott in San Antonio and talk about a rowdy bunch! They danced from the first song til the end of the night and were yelling for more! The lovely Sheila Spensley did a fantastic job, Dom handled the sound engineering beautifully and a good time was had by all!! Looking forward to Saturday the 29th when we party in El Campo at the fantastic Greek Bros. club and restaurant - run since the 80’s by the Charkalis family, Greek Bros. is an institution in SE Texas and will be a great time. If you’re anywhere in the Houston, Victoria or Columbus area, please come early, have an awesome dinner and dance the night away to a great band ;) Talk soon!
